Holiday Group Art Show - Gower Lofts (Hollywood, CA)

I participated in a Holiday Group Show in December along with 6 other artists. The weekend long show was a chance for us to show new work and to help raise money for a great charity thru silent auctions of various prizes and an original piece of art donated by each of the artists.

Below are pictures from the opening reception at the Brand Library Art Gallery in Glendale, CA on July 8, 2006. The seascape I painted, La Bufadora - Tide Rocks, is on display through August 25. This event preceded the Glendale Open Studio Tour on July 9 where over 70 artists in the city opened up their workspaces to the public.

This piece was painted plein air during a weekend trip to La Bufadora in Baja, Mexico in October 2004.

The following pictures are from the October 6th opening reception of the show "Among The Shadows" at the Claremont Forum Gallery. The four monochrome works displayed are from the series Portraits of Sculpture - Real or Imagined. The closeup is of the painting Giacometti's Head. Acrylic on paper. 19 x 30 inches.

These also represent my first try at creating custom handmade and handpainted frames for my own artwork.
